Awning problems The problem with normal awnings is that the fabric (PVA) is not resistant to the ultra violet radiation of the sun. We all like the sun, but the sun will destroy your awning. Of course for holiday use this is not a problem, but for permanent use on a year round plot, problems will arise after 1 or 2 years. First, the mould will arrive (black spots on the roof). This mould is a bacteria which is eating your roof; not very healthy is you ask me! After 2 or 3 years you will need to seal your roof because it is raining inside as well as out! Between the 3rd and the 5th years you will need to replace your awning. This doesn’t sound good but….the solution is here! The awning that is resistant to the ultra violet radiation of the sun is one made of PVC! This PVC is treated with a substance which reflects the sun and therefore cannot penetrate it like PVA. The roof has 3 layers, the middle of which is carbon, to reflect the sun. You can also wash your awning so that it is clean whenever you want. These awnings are available at a very competitive price, is the best quality, and will represent value for money for many years of use.
